Shoreline Community Church 

Shoreline (as we affectionately call it) is a young church in Mountain View, California.  We are relaxed and accepting. Our messages are relevant to life today without guilt trips, our worship is contemporary, it celebrates God, and draws people into an experience of praise and worship.  

We care about kids. Our children's' program offers separate classes for pre-school and elementary children. Our nursery folks will love your youngest children.  

No matter where you live we want you to know that God loves and cares for you and so do we.

Our Purpose: Shoreline Community Church exists to Love God and Share His Love with Others.

Our Vision: We are a group of people that seeks to celebrate the presence of God:

1. In worship (God)
2. Respond to the needs of others (Gifts)

What We Believe 

The Guiding Principles of Shoreline are:

1. The Bible is our ultimate source of truth.
2. Prayer is our most important way to communicate with God.

Toward God - Loving God, His word, Prayer, Commitment to spiritual growth and service

Toward People - Loving them, Reaching out to accept them and meet their needs, Teamwork,  Freedom and flexibility, and Commitment to integrity.

Our Hopes For You 

We hope that you will find real and accepting people, who take God and what Christ has done for them seriously without taking themselves too seriously.  We hope that you will find people who genuinely care about one another and recognize that everyone is in a process of spiritual growth.

We hope that you will find freedom in the message from the Bible that both encourage your heart and are applicable to your life.  We hope that you will find people who care about your children and will help your children grow spiritually and in relationships with others

Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, you are welcome at Shoreline.  You can ask questions, have doubts and feel free to not agree with everything we say and do.  We appreciate diversity of opinion and background.  We hope you will feel comfortable as you explore who God is, and experience His love for you.

 The Good News in Brief

(or...How YOU can relate to God!) 

God created the world for perfection, both in the creation itself and it its relationships.  Mankind was created for friendship and companionship with God, but because of selfish desires men and women walked away from God's perfect intention.  Because God is perfect and holy, a perfect and holy sacrifice was necessary if men and women were to individually reestablish a love relationship with God.  Only God Himself was qualified to be such a sacrifice, and so Jesus Christ came to earth to share God's love and life with His contemporaries of that time, and with us through the Bible......

Meet Our Pastor

Scott Spielman

..After graduating from the Stanford business school in 1980 Scott worked in sales and marketing management for 13 years in Silicon Valley.  Scott also served for 12 years in a wide range of lay ministries.  In 1996 he graduated from Western Seminary in San Jose.

Scott is married to Charis Spielman and they are blessed with two sons and one daughter.

Charis is a registered dietitian with a Masters in Public Health from San Jose State, and also loves being a mom.   At Shoreline, Charis is the Childern's Program Coordinator.
